Any plumbers out there? Also, due to the recent popularity of going 'into a trade' in the UK, is there still plenty of jobs around? (My husband has been offered an apprentice position...)

Tell your husband to take the position up, low wages for a few years but then expect to earn £30k. Gas fitting pays more so tell him to do a gas fitters course along side his apprenticeship and he could put another £10k on top of that, but then he will hit the 40% tax barrier. Self Employed CORGI registered plumber/gas fitter should be earning £200 to £300 per DAY !

that is one that is really hard to answer..being self employed there are so many variables involved as alot of it involves you finding your own business. A plumber who has ticket should make around £30k but thats working for a company, not themself
