Fame was recorded by David Bowie in 1975 but it was inspired by a guitar riff written by Carlos Alomar and titled by John Lennon. The link to the info page is listed below

The other 'Fame' was written by Michael Gore for the film, and went to the top of the charts by Irene Cara ;-)
