I know this has nothing to do with computers & internet, but i am posting this question because i know it will get alot of results.

My assistant manager told me this morning that they DID NOT have to pay me the new minimum wage, because we only have 6 employees.

Federal minimum wage law isn't just a nice idea, it's a mandate: they have to pay it.

That's a Depatment of Labor site. You can call DOL at 1-866-487-9243 with your specific case.
The law has teeth: there are sanctions available for non-compliance.
Rock the boat: know your rights!

You do not say what state or city law advises the change. Michigan has a new rate for all employers having TWO or more employees starting today.

call human resources and ask them for sure... That sounds fishy to me, don't let them get away with it, it's a federal law and just by him telling you that is illegal I think!
