It's probably because they feel threatened... Or because they don't understand what science is all about, and don't see why scientists think what they think. Creationists and people like that believe something and desperately want to prove that - scientists often do the same, but when the results contradict their beliefs, they (most of them at least) sooner or later admit they were wrong. No one believes today that the earth moves in some kind of "aether" in which light waves are transmitted.

I guess Christians (not generalising!, I know there are Christians who don't give a damn to creationist nonsense) are afraid that science might make their faith impossible. They see the things science reveals, and they feel increasingly uncomfortable as scientists are getting more and more respect with their results that creationists think contradict their belief in God and genesis. So they struggle to falsify those results, and they think they find good arguments - one of my favourites is "there are no transitional forms in the fossil record and evolution doesn't exist"; I'm sure no one who believes that has ever heard of antibiotic resistant bacteria ;). It seems creationists don't know, or don't want to know, how to look at evidence, and what counts as evidence. A book, written thousands of years ago by hundreds of authors in languages mistranslated several times and edited for political reasons certainly doesn't, in my opinion.

And btw, someone should explain to all creationists on this damned mudball that science CANNOT PROVE OR DISPROVE THE EXISTENCE OF GOD. They are free to believe in God, and no one has the basis to laugh at their belief. They should admit, however, that the Bible must not be taken literally. That is against all evidence and common sense. I'm sad that this causes so much pain to some.

pointing out that some thing is accessible would not recommend that that's a truth, or that that's sensible to undertake the region. If I suggested that's accessible that there is an ice cream production unit on Jupiter, does that make it intellectually defensible or a position worth adopting in basic terms via the indisputable fact that's a risk? not in any respect. in simple terms claiming a risk in preserving with no longer some thing more suitable than it being a accessible option, no count number how distant, isn't adequate grounds for atheists to declare viability of their atheism. they ought to arise with more suitable than the "there is not any evidence for God." actuality. in the different case, there truly should be an ice cream production unit on Jupiter, and the atheist could step up on the band wagon and commence protecting the region that Jupiterian ice cream exists. See the position i go, right here?

Don't be a dipstick !!! All faiths, beliefs, companies pay "researchers" who are "scientists" to prove whatever they want to. The sad thing is that those of simple intelligence tend to believe what they are told beacause "there is scientific evidence".
Its the same with religion. Just because someone recorded what somone thought someone said or did centuries before, then that proves their faith is right!!!
So its not just christians. who use bogus science. Islam, Judaism and Christianity were all derived from Abraham so it depends where you live as to who got the facts right.

Probably for the same reasons that those Koreans claimed to have cloned people, and things like that.

Since when was proof a cornerstone of what they do. Surely the point is that they are now conceding ground over creation.

mostly because they are so dedicated to their faith they are willing to do and say anything to make it look right. i doubt they do it on purpose. they just believe so hard they overlook other things that contradict what they believe. keep in mind these are the people who believe in something that has never actually proven itself. i mean, we all stopped believing in the Easter bunny and Santa right?

Because some scientists are bogus anyhow

Because they do not understand the issues and assume that their conclusions must be right.

because they think faith is better than truth...they believe that you have to believe it before you can see it (whereas most science types believe the opposite.)

Those that do that sort of thing are crackpots and desperate for acceptance.
