You may remember Madonna's hit song and how much controversey it stirred up in the 80s. I consider myself a spiritual person after a long and arduous search in college, but I can see Madonna's argument, even if it is presented in her song as a "devil's advocate" argument rather than a real statement about herself. Of late, a young, very pretty waitress at a local grille remarked, I hope sarcastically, that "men are just glorified wallets". Is there truth in this statement for you?

I'm not into material things. I have an old car and watch what I spend my money on. I would rather have a relationship based on love then on what the guy could buy for me.
I once had a guy tell me that he didn't want to date me because my car is older. Men tend to stereo type women thinking we are only into a guy because of what they can do for us but, I think the only guys that really believe this, are the ones that are into material items themselves.

You have to admit that Madonna is sort of weird and a lot of waitresses are airhead, bubble gum chewing types.
