My sister marriage is tearing apart. I love her so much but her husband is being very nasty because she has had 5 daughters without a male child and the guy wants a male child. He doesn't understand the ethics of biology and sex. Which hospital in Europe or Asia can they go for a sex selection to have the baby boy they need so there will be peace. Please advise, no jokes!!!

I sympathise with you and your sister's problem, but I cannot advise you on this because I believe it is morally wrong to choose the sex of a child. Each child is a gift from God and should be appreciated as such. They are lucky to have 5 children already.
I realise that this is a cultural thing, but I think this guy needs to be grateful for the blessings he has already received and stop wishing for something that may never happen.
Would it be possible for him and his wife to visit a doctor together so that the doctor could explain to him why some children are male and others female.
If he can't accept this, maybe she should not stay married to him.

Some of these answers I have read are just moronic.

Selecting the sex of the baby is accomplished by using a centrifuge to separate the "x" sperm cells from the "y" sperm cells. The cells that select for the chosen gender are then used to artificially inseminate the ova, thus producing a child of "selected" gender.

While the technique is understood and very likely used in animal husbandry,(or in conservation efforts when animals of a particular sex are needed to balance a population),the idea of using the process in humans raises serious ethical issues.

The objections range from "playing God" to the fear that if gender selection were a widespread process, we might eventually create an overpopulation of one gender of the other, Thus threatening the very future of our species.

I wish you luck in your endeavor, but am afraid that the only places you will find to do this will be the wacko cloning labs in Korea or in Communist China.

Sorry my answer isn't what you're after.

None and even the ones that do it experimentally don't have great results. It just increases likelihood. Doing it doggie style raises the odds almost as much.

Well, I can tell you how they do it, its real simple actually and maybe they can try it at home. You take the sperm and spin it. Centrifugal force makes the heavier sperm go to the bottom. Female sperm is heavier than make sperm so their will be more males at the top of the sample. So you take the very top of the sample and inject that (with a turkey baster type thing) into the vagina. So they just need to buy a centrifuge and spin all their sperm.

Sounds just simply bad.

IT's the father that should be blamed for not having a son since he's the one who carries two sex genes.

Marriage counceling would be the first choice cos it's not the sex of the children that tears up the marriage , it's the father.

i think he should be grateful with what he has...i know all men want to have a son...but he will still get the love from his girls...i have 3 sons....i never really wanted girls, but if i had have done then i would still be happy about it, but my ex wanted a girl so much, and when i had my 3rd son, he looked so disappointed, but he loves him regardless, i told him that he gets what he's given, now he has the daughter that he longed for with his new wife.....your sister has given him a gift, maybe one day his little boy will be here, but i feel for your sis because she is going through this pressure and her hubby should give her some peace and just leave her alone, she's given him beautiful daughters, he should be happy about that

This has got to be a joke, Your sister should get rid of him. You can choose the sex of a baby. That is nature that does that. So as long as your sister has healthy children then she should be happy and so should he. There are many people who can't have children or have sick children .

She should divorce him.

If he were smart, he would know that HE's not providing his wife with a boy. It has nothing to do with her. HIS sperm is the deciding factor. I hope she divorces him before bringing another child into this world.

And shame on her for thinking that a male child can fix their marriage.
