Yes, I agree. But when I was earning minimum wage while training to be a pharmacy technician (now that sucked because it's not an easy trade to learn), I dealt with the public who were generally in a bad mood because they were ill and needed medication, yet I was very considerate and respectful to all the customers. When I shop at Wal-Mart, I don't expect very much from the employees but their attitudes really suck and I've never gotten any assistance when I've asked and most of the time after I've paid the cashier, they don't even count out my change or say thank you. If it wasn't for the prices, I would never shop at Wal-Mart. Plus their store security treats everyone like a shoplifter and that's so insulting.

Watch the documentary "The high cost of low prices" and read the book "the walmart effect" .. then you will undersand why a big deal is being made. You still might not agree, but you will understand.
Briefly Walmart currently is very successfully using people, local goverments. They get tax subsidies to build, their employees go on the dole, and then they often move out of down when they are about to be taxed.
So, yes this is a free country, but walmart is making us feel used.

No. Walmart doesn't allow their employees to purchase things at their stores. Just kidding. What a dumb question.

Most of the time it's the only job they could get. The pay sucks because Walmart doesn't want people making it a career.

Did it ever dawn on you that employees are paid so low there not so consumers can get lower prices, but so the company can make bigger profits and does not care about the employees or not care about providing them with any benefits etc.? Many of the employees there are in their 60's and 70's and don't have any other job options much.

i agree with texasboy.nobody forced them to work there and no one is forced to shop there.there are some people where i work(we belong to a union)that won't shop there because of the way they treat their workers, but i don't think that will help change a big corporation like that.

True. Nobody is forced to work for Wal-Mart, nor is anyone forced to shop there.
