well zen is much more powerful then ipod... PLUS creative happens to OWN the patented technology behind ipod and thats why the sued apple for using their tech 'illegally'
my suggestion.. wait a bit more.. Microsoft Zune is about to hit the stores with full throttle.. its gonna knock all the ipods and zens out..! its cooler than zen... its got everything a zen has got PLUS it's wi-fi enabled and has a larger screen.. price? 249.99$ for 30 GB!
Zen is now a li'l expensive then ipod or zune.. the new ipods just rolled in with new price tags
ipod shuffle 1gb = 80$
ipod nano 2gb = 150$
ipod 30gb = 249$
ipod 80gb = 349$
ms zune 30gb = 250$

Feature for feature the zen wins hands down.even with the revamped 80 gig ipod .Lets look at the facts
1. the vision:m has a 265000 colour screen while the ipod still has only 65000, you can see the difference
2. The vision supports multiple video formats,up to 11 while the apple has 2 and even those are not that great
3. the vision is "play for sure" which means you can choose your music store while ipods only use itunes
4. the built in fmradio and voice recorder are standard on the vision while the apple sells them as accesories

The Zen visionM basicly better except it's twice as heavy as the Ipod (U shouldn't take the weight lightly) and there's rumors about Zen VisionM hard drive freeze up. Apple has been making hard drive Ipods for a longer time

thats not true.. ipods dont go bad.. i got mine for free but yeah still hasnt gone bad.. although i stepped on it while i was a lil tipsy and broke the screen ha!.. although i agree with the whole trend with ipods.. ipods kick *** but the zen is on the same level.. which ever fits your style.. it looks like theres no difference.. the zen is a lil cheaper.. its 30 gigs.. plays videos (120 hrs or so they say).. holds pics.. it looks smaller.. i think i'd go with the zen

if you like things by brand go with ipod if u like being a nonconformist get a crative and i have a creative there things are like rocks i had it for 2 years and i drop it alot and it still plays fine

get the cretive one..i have it ...Its #1...dont follow the trend w/ipod... You should go with the zen... ipods ten d to go bad!!

if i were you, i would get the creative, but thats because i loathe ipods.
shariq's got a good point, you should really check out the zune
