Always the lead, I don't want branches snapping back and belting me in the face...
This is assuming I can keep up with whoever I am training with of course!
How can you run with only one leg below the knee?

There's only one person who could get me to run on a narrow trail in the first place. So I would prefer to follow...the view would be so much better from behind.

If I were running on a trail narrow or large it would be a great thing. I don't run anymore. I ride my bicycle now. The knees won't take running anymore. But if I did I would follow.

On a trail, I would prefer to lead, since I am good on broken ground and in the woods. If it was a paved or open 'trail', I would prefer to follow.
EXCEPTION: If it was my wife I was running with, I would prefer to follow, especially if she is wearing her nice workout pants. :)
