Have you ever found a newspaper inside the wall when you tore the wall down????
or even a message written inside?

We tore the ceiling out of our living room and found an old map of our village. We gave it to the Historical Society. There was a newspaper with it but I forget what year it was from. Our house was very old (one of the original buildings in the village). It was haunted too.

My house is only 15 years old, but about 15 years ago I was renovating one and found some newpapers from the 1940's... I don't think they were worth anything but it was cool to see them... oh and it was not in a wall but in an attic

I am not allowed to do renovations without getting planning permission and specialist contractors in (that cost 10 times more than standard builders) due to the age of my house (400+ years)...it takes forever to do and is a real ball ache!!
In one of my old houses I found a poem written in what looked like blood undreneath the wallpaper...that house was only 150 years old but it scared the holy crap out of me and my girlfriend of the time!!

My place isn't old enough for there to be a message from beyond the grave hidden inside the walls.....and i am not at all upset about that!

My parents recently renovated their basement, and they found beer bottles in the ceiling, sitting on one of the rafters.
The house is like fifty years old, so it was cool to see what beer bottles and labels looked like back then.

I haven't, but I did find some old toys in the wall when I was working on my old house. It was very interesting.

My bf hangs drywall...they write stuff on the back of the drywall all the time. Not really messages, most of it is probly obscene hehe :)
