Sure. Well, there was a man called Daedalus who was a really fabulous Athenian architect. His son was called Icarus. He also had a nephew called Perdix. Perdix was also a student of Daedalus and he also had a lot of talent. The people started to praise Perdix for his work and Daedalus, who at first was very proud of his pupil, started to get jealous, so one day, he pushed Perdix off the cliff to kill him. Athena heard the cry of Perdix and changed him into small bird. Daedalus, in the mean time, he fled from Athens to Crete under King Minos to avoid his trial. Then for some reason, they got into this big argument. Daedalus and his son Icarus was locked away in a tower. Icarus expressed his wish to fly with the birds during the time of their imprisonment and Daedalus was thus inspired to make two pairs of wings, taking feathers from the birds of the air. When he was finished, he warned his son not to fly near to the snu as the wax that he used to hold the feathers together would melt and would dropped to his death and not to fly too close to the water as the water would weigh him down and the wings would not flap and therefore drown. With these warnings, Daedalus flew out of the window to see if the wings worked. They did. He called his son to join him and after a while, Icarus who was afraid at first turned excited to the thought that he could really fly. In the midst of his excitement, Icarus forgot his father's warnings and flew too close to the sun, the wax melted and he fell, down into the sea and drowned. Daedalus was frightened and went in serch of his son, then he saw his son's body lying afloat the sea and knew Icarus was dead. He sadly buried his son somewhere and before doing so, he prayed to the gods that he would do anything to bring his son back alive. Seeing no changes and his prayer unanswered, he buried his son. A little bird came down next to Daedalus and he heard that the bird was chirping 'Perdix', and at that moment, he knew that the death of his son was the punishment he deserved for murdering his nephew. The sea that Icarus drowned is now called the Icarian sea.

Icarus tried to fly too close to the sun with waxed on feathers for wings. His father had warned him not to fly too close but he was enjoying himself too much to pay attention. His feathers melted and he fell into the sea and died.

particular! it quite is a e book that has lots of the memories, heroes, and gods of the two Greek and Roman Mythology (so which you would be arranged for the Heroes of Olympus sequence: aka: the subsequent sequence of Percy Jackson). Greek and Roman Mythology A to Z, via Kathleen N. Daly I heavily advise it, it quite is a stable source for each little thing.
