Intel Core Duo.... Dual processing is the latest and greatest Hyper Threading has been out for couple of years and its not all that said to be. Dual processing blows away hyper threading in performance.

Uhh....hard to say. The clockspeed doesn't really tell you too much if you're looking at the processors. The duo processors give you 200% processing power, but it doesn't mean it's faster. The reason old computers, obviously with one processor, freeze up when you photoshop for a couple seconds, is because there is another task it has to process. Duo processors, as the name suggests, can take care of two, three, four problems at the same time. In the future, processors will have more power until multi-tasking is child's play. In other words, you could say that a 2.0Ghz single-core processor can run one program as fast as a duo-core processor.
FYI: the new processors are being built so small that the clock speed is significantly faster. Go Intel.

Intel's Core 2 Duo processors. I have that on my laptop and I used to have the hyper threading and I think the Duo is much better and it is a lot faster and it is the best for gaming. Part of the reason is that the Duo is much newer as well. I hope this has helped you. :)

Core 2 Duo, it's the latest technology in laptops!!! altho i would stay away from the HPs because they actually haven't made complete use of the potential power of this chip! for gaming, I would suggest the Dell XPS, the only good laptop coming out of dell!

It will vary from computer to computer. So to have the REAL answer and not the Theory would be to give them both a go on the same system...but that is some major $$
