To run it you have to have a SLI board and two identical graphics cards that can be configured to run SLI.

I have seen all hte SLI certified things on nVidia's website, basically only the certified motherboard is a must, although I would recommend getting the other parts SLI certified as well.

in order to use SLi, you need a SLI motherboard, and any of the PCI-E video cards that say SLI on them. YOU can however mix match. LOTS of people don't think you can, but nVidia says you can, just as long as it's using the same chipset, meaning you can buy a BFG 7900GTX and buy a XFX 7900GTX, and it will still work in SLI
You can't mix as in BFG 7900 and a XFX 7600 though, it needs to be the same chipset, like 6600/6600, 7300/7300, etc... Also memory doesn't have to be the same, though it's recommended, cause if one card is 512, and the other is 256, you'll loose half of the 512, and it'll make your system run at 256, to change the amount etc, and make them run the same, you gotta use coolbits.
