In a lot of respects yes I would give up technology, I was a teenager in the 70's and life was so different then, kids played in the streets, jobs were plentiful, life was easier, but I suppose we all have to move with the times and either embrace the modern or stay behind and miss out, shame really but guess that's life.

I don't believe it is possible to turn our backs on technology and still continue living in the world that we know today.
Having said that, I have often looked back and reflected on life in the 60's, 70's and even the 80's, when techology was not as advanced as it is today.
In my opinion, technology has increased the stress and the speed at which we live our lives today. Not only that, if you consider our legislation, whilst supposedly is protecting us, in fact has placed barriers where were never apparent before.
I do have family in Africa, and when visiting I stay in remote villages where there is no technology whatsoever, no electricity, no gas, no running water, no streetlights, no phones, no mobiles in actual fact there is nothing.
Life is relaxing and humbling. How I would manage however if I that was all I had until the day I day, I wouldn't now. But the villagers are happy, because that is all they know.
Life is becoming so complex and complicated now, I wonder what it will be like in years to come?

unfortunately no.
its just a part of our life now and we cant live without it. i wud say, try it out yourself. dont use any modern electronic or electric device.
at times i hate it too, cos they control us and we r becoming zombies. when i was in college in early 90's, mobile phones were not yet introduced in india. now i am not surprised to see a poor man having one. as tehy hv becoming cheaper and more affordable now.
imagine what it will be like in the 2050's ... boy i am scared.

YES I WOULD! OK, it brings a lot of good stuff with it, but the "social cost" is just too high.
