It STILL could be an allergy-blood-pressure med-did your doc check for THAT allergy? ALOT of people who are on the same high-blood-pressure medicine for a long time get a type of nervous (and very annoying cough) are you on blood pressure meds? If so, tell your doc you'd like to try a new one for awhile. Happens alot.

I am a Pediatrician but I have taken care of children with 'chronic' cough. First of all, do you smoke or exposed to cigarette smoke?
secondly-- could this be a sinus infection with chronic post nasal drip (sometimes I'll treat with a 10 day course of antibx and see if the pt gets better). Also asthma could present this way-- sonetimes it takes Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT's) to make a diagnosis (x-rays aren't helpful). Also have you been exposed to TB (tuberculosis or had a PPD done?)
So in conclusion you should probably get a second opinion- preferably from a Pulmonologist- good luck

could be post nasal drip. I.e. instead of a runny nose, the mucus will drip down the back of the throat thus irritating it. therefore, you cough. Mucus is probably whitish rather than green/yellowish. Doctor should have figured this out though. If it is PND, there is medicine to dull the throat irritation, as well as to slow down the mucus production.
All the best.

Cough itself is nothing but a cause for some internal body problem just as lungs, heart or chest problem. find out the problem and then you will have the cure. I suggest you to consult homeopathic doctor. Do not worry. there is nothing serious.

Coughing can be throat, esophagus, lungs. Coughing is the body's attempt to get rid of something that it thinks should not be there. The doctors have missed it. Go to more capable doctors.

If you smoke then yes. if no, then listen to the doc. Maybe try getting a second opinion.
