In the KJV of the Bible, Sodom, and Gomorrah was a sinful place that god destroyed. It is beleived to be the birthplace of homosexuality:
GEN 19:24
Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

Sodom and Gomorrah were two Biblical cities mentioned several times in the bible but specifically in Genesis 18-19. Their inhabitants were regarded as sinful in the eyes of the Lord and it is from the sexuall practices of Sodom that we get the modern word sodomy.
The cities feature in the story of Abraham whom God warned that he and his family should leave Sodom. Despite being told not to look back at the city, Lot's wife did so and was turned into a pillar of salt as a result.

Sodom and Gomorrah were two cities mentioned in the Torah/Bible as having been destroyed by God because the inhabitants were depraved and evil. God tells Abraham of his plans to destroy the cities, and Abraham pleads with God to spare the cities for the sake of as few as ten righteous people. However, the story relates that God's angels were able to find only one righteous person, Abraham's nephew Lot. God destroyed the cities, after allowing Lot and his family to escape the cities.

Sodom and Gomorrah were two cities mentioned in the Bible. The people in these cities were incredibly sinful individuals and because of their sin, God destroyed those two cities.
Even a certain sexual act is named sodomy after the city of Sodom.

Your other answers did not mention that they were on the shore of the Dead Sea. The Bible describes them as being destroyed by fire and brimstone but a television programme about them concluded that they may have been destroyed by a landslip following an earthquake. The fire and brimstone description sounds like a volcano but there are none in the area.

Sodomy and Gabor were two wise men from the days of yore. They anally raped many of the passers-by in the town of Nad Gamora. One day the great wizard, Sharif, cast a spell on them and stole away their manhood. They moved out to the desert after that and became scholars of the arts. It's true.

The examples. The wornings. Maybe God dont repeat this because by His Wisdom He sees we dont fear anymore of that cases and we have even worse nightmares by our power - bombs and rocets... So many people shout that God leave us, but didnt we want that? People greed for power takes control of whole planet. We mostly dont fallow Gods steps. Except creation and maintance we choose anger and destruction. Gods wrath seems not needed any more. Our mistakes like polution is enough punishment. And better dont tell me we can escape of all of this... into space, down to ocean bottom, under ground into bunkers... Evil will fallow inside us. Evil can be conquered constantly by inner strenght. Only one way I know and I still fallow. As long as I can...
