Restaurants are going to say whatever they have to say to fill their seats... or, in the case of fast food, to keep their drive through full!

Most of us know the difference between reality and Angus BS... if most consumers are too dumb to know the difference between marketing BS and the cold, hard truth, oh, well, that's why they do it!

Angus is the most common Black Cow in America. There are a lot more kinds of beef than 2 as someone answered here. The best beef in the world is a grain fed Charolais (a dirty white cow). Angus beef is generally pastured (organic) and not even properly grain fed for 6 to 8 weeks before slaughter. In this case Angus or organic are the worst of what is available. Shortcuts in beef production with a "famous (Angus) name do not good food make. However a grain fed Angus Cow that has never been pastured can be the best steak you will ever eat. So tender it almost cuts itself into bites. You can bet this expensive stuff does not go to fast food places.

There are 2 breeds of beef cattle: Angus and Hereford. Neither one is better than the other. The parts that can't be cut into steaks and roasts, plus all the trimmings, go into ground beef - but so do all the old spent dairy cattle. In terms of taste, beef is beef. If marketing gurus think that a name will impress you like Angus, well, they'll do whatever it takes to sell more product. Your taste buds won't know the difference. I wouldn't trust anyone from the marketing department any father than I can throw a grand piano.

It might be the same meat but it does taste different. I'm pretty sure they add a different seasoning to the meat. I don't like the angus patties. They taste nasty.
