I give my 12th graders homework to prepare them for college. A lot of students today take education for granted. My students get a huge amount everyday and at first they complain, but then realize it is a part of the job. I have had many students graduate and come back to me and tell me they felt right at home when they went to college. I believe education is the key to success and if you want to be successful, you have to put in the work.

It pushes them to learn and become the best they can be with homework and it teaches them responsibility also by showing them things that have a due date need to be turned in when due.You can't slack off in the real world so they might as well get used to the work

Well, sometimes it is too much. Especially when you get a bunch of busywork that has no value to it. But I don't think getting 4 or 5 hours a night is excessive when you are a senior in high school. You really shouldn't get any more than that, though.

Kids are overloaded with home work these days. Although I only graduated 11 years ago it seems my daughter who's in middle school has homework that I had in highschool.

Excessive and unproductive. It is busy work. It causes more harm than good. Parent's need to pressure teachers do work efficiently and effectively. The goal should be quality work with quality results not to be confused with more and more work.

It's ridiculous. Especially how young they start, kids in 1st and 2nd grade even have homework!

well I get at least 3 pages a day and like 5 pages on weekends

If its interesting to the student, not enough.
If its boring to the student, then too much.

My teachers are making it super easy. i hardly get any homework , and i'm in extra classes. I LOVE it!
