You should certainly tell your parents, ask f or their support and help. Ask your mom to make an appointment with your family Dr. so tests can be run to determine if you should add vitamins or other supplements to your diet. Most important, take responsibility for yourself. Help your mom by preparing really good veggie dishes, using tofu etc.
Good luck and good eating.

Your body is still developping. It might not be a good idea to become a vegetarian yet. However, whatever you do and whenever you do it, you must consult a doctor. I have a friend who is a vegetarian and he is always supervised by a doctor, so that he eats the necessary foods and combinations to get enough protein etc. So you really have to have your parents on your side to do it. And listen to the previous answereres too, about having a little meat and not being obsessed with it, once in a while.

Im a vegetarian. Go to peta.com and theyll send you a starter kit, free. You dont need meat, you need protein which youll get if you eat seafood, egg white, anything soy, veggie meats have much more protein and B vitamins than any REAL meat. Plus theres no cholesterol or fat or very little fat. Morning star is the best. I dont like BOCA brand. IOts been provan vegetarians are healthier and thinner and live longer. Also check out goveg.com. Good luck.

I don't think your parents would be made at that, but it would be best to let them know if this really what you want to do. Also, consult with a doctor or nutritionist before you start because your very young and meats have a lot of different nutrients detrimental to your growth. A doctor will probably tell you to take vitamins as a supplements with your veggies. Good luck to you on this.

Talk to your parents and tell them you would like to try eating meals that include no meat. They'll probably help you out with different recipes for you to try. If you decide you like being a vegan, then the pathway has already been started!

Research everything you can find about vegetarians, that way you have something to back up what you tell your parents. Show the pros and cons, and with every con you find, show how to get around it.
What ever you do though, do not condem your parents for eating meat even if you disagree with it. You must respect their rights if you want yours respected.

You really need to eat the meat, it has lots of proteins and nutrients that is vital to the growth of your body. After you are done growing about at the age of 18-21 then you can consider being a vegetarian as you are mostly done growing.
