A headshot is definately required. I work in theatre in London and photographers normally advertise their services in our theatre so you could trail your local theatres, you do your own hair and make-up. your resume should be only your acting resume with all college, university and local experience only both paid and unpaid. Agents again may be found through local theatres, tv stations or production companies.

In the business of the actors guild...it takes one commercial to start you on the right track.
New York is the perfect place to start. Get your self noticed right away and most importantly how good of an exhibitonist are you will be the key from singing and acting.

Did you know that most actors are great exhibitionists and most have mental problems and that is a fact, but Mental behavior in crazed ways makes money on film.
You have to be crazy to some things on film that is not acting, they just like to act crazy or do stupid and weird things because they are weird in a sense with enough intelligence to know the difference and where to sign on the dotted line

Here's an example.....Max Baer (Jethro from Beverly Hillbillies) auditioned in Hollywood from an article in the paper that they were looking for talent to fill certain postions open for the soon to become hit series episode "The Beverly Hillbillies).
Max showed up for the part of Jethro with no acting skills at all.

He auditioned and read the script as told while they filmed him and he failed the first audition, but one person there Donna Douglas auditioning for the part of Elly Mae had told Max during a lunch break that he needed to loosen up or he won't get another shot at the part of Jethro. So Max went out with Donna to a bar near by and Max drank some Liquor and got drunk.

When he appeared back in the studio for the second audition and this is the real killer...if he makes it he's got the part if he flunks he's out. So since he was drunk, he acted like a fool out and yelling Yee Haw that was not on the script, because he could care less at that point if he got the part or not.

After the first take, the producer started laughing and asked Max "Are you drunk?" Max replied yes and he feels good and the producer told him excellent you got the part, but I want you to act like that when your not drunk.
Max was a success as Jethro. This is true story.
So remember, success is not always how good you act or what acting school you went too, its how you look on film>..peace Aldo Rosado

You build your resume by the plays, movies, television and theater in which you appear.

As a beginning actor, you are NOT ready for an agent. An agent cannot help you, if the only thing on your resume is your name and cell-phone number. The agent wants to see, on your resume, the productions in which you performed.

The agent must see you perform in a play, film, television, etc. He must see you audition. Do you have at least one-dozen monologues that you can perform at a moment's notice, for an agent? If not, start reading plays and memorizing monologues.

Read plays, take acting classes, memorize monologues, audition for local plays, you are nowhere near the headshot/agent stage.
