it would be a date.
if you think it is bf and gf them that is going too far and fast go on a couple dates then ask her if you want to be bf and gf
after the movie then ask her on another date a week or two later
take it slow or you WILL lose her

Just say hello, ask her how she is, and tell her about the movie and that you would like it if she went with you. It would be a date. 1 date does not make her your gf, you need to be romanticly involved and have an understanding of mutual feelings for that. What you would do after the movie needs to be figured out when you ask her, because she must tell her parents where she will be. You could go for a walk, go for dinner, go bowling, go to one of your houses...you have to talk it over with her, once she agrees to go, she has a say, and how that all works out, and how well you listen to her, is part of whether she becomes your gf or not. If you can be together, and talk sometimes, but be quiet together sometimes and not feel awkward, that is a good sign. At the end of the date, get up close and ask how she enjoyed herself,
and if she moves closer, she may want you to kiss her. Cup her face in your hands very lightly, and move in real slow, and just press your lips to hers, and if she is really with it, you will very soon know...
If she lets you kiss her, you might call her "Baby,"
and see how that goes, and you're on the train to girlfriendville. She will help you if she likes you.
Call her the next day, say you liked being with her, and chat. Make sure that you do this!! Get her cell!!
Good luck!!

The thing to remember is that you have to take things slowly. If you ask her to go to a movie and she says yes it means she likes you, now whether or not it's as a friend or as a potential boyfriend depends on what happens later. Be careful not to put pressure on yourself or her by assuming it's a date. I would suggest going to a cafe or someplace before or after the movie so you two can have a chance to talk and get to know each other. If it works out well ask her to go somewhere with you again. After you go out several times you can ask her if she's interested in a relationship.

What is your age? What do your parents think? If they okay it, yes ask. Be direct. Just state you want to take in a movie and ask her if she would like to join you. Go over to her house after the movie and see her family.

I would think that you should ask her face to face and make sure none of your friends ior hers are around that way she can decide without pressure. I would go for a nice walk after the movie, that is always nice and gives time for undistracted conversation.
