My girlfriend is always complaining about breaking her nails. My question is, why do toe nails seem to be ever so much stronger than finger nails, they never seem to break easy?

It all depends on the person. Ususally toenails are thicker then fingernails. Also, we use our hands alot. Like washing dishes or anything with water, nails soak up the water. Really. And if your finger nails are to wet all the time they can become brittle when they dry out. Tell you girlfriend to try some cuticle oil. Just rub it in twice a day and it'll help keep her fingernails and cuticles looking great.

thats because you cant put your toe nails in your mouth so easily therefore not breaking them ! We never really bother with toe nails so this is why they have a mind of their own !

toe nails are shorter, thicker and feet are subjected to everyday trama such as typing, writing, cooking, scratching, getting caught in clothing or in doors, or even being exposed to the cold/ heat or pollution the same was hands are.

PROBABLY B/C WE DON'T USE OUR TOE NAILS LIKE WE USE OUR FINGERNAILS. OUR HANDS GET WET A LOT WHICH WILL WEAKEN THEM ALSO.
