A pg test is too important to trust a dollar store brand. I would get a First Response or an EPT. Most of the time you can buy them with 2 or 3 tests in 1 box. So if it looks like it might be positive but the line is faint & you want to do it again the next day to see if it still looks positive, or if it's negative & you're still not sure, you have another test to use.

Usually it's not the brand that matters it's when you use them that does. I used generic dollar store tests on both of my pregnancies and wasn't even late yet and they both showed pg right away there was no denying that i was pg. but i took them first thing in the morning as soon as i got out of bed so the hormone that the tests are looking for are really strong.

Any brand will work; but try to test first thing in the morning, when your hCG levels are highest. check out the website below; it's a really helpful website in determining what tests are the most accurate/easiest to use.

As long as you don't look at the test after the time limit, you shoulud get a good result from most tests. I trust EPT and first response, also clear blue. Especially the digitial ones.

I remember wondering that myself about 3 years ago....by the way, good luck if you are.....Clear Blue Easy was fast and effecient, but to be sure, I also took an EPT the next day....both said positive. I was only a week late....I now have a beautiful little girl. Handful, and time-consuming, but the BEST way I've ever spent my time in my 24 years. There's no love like a child's and parent's love. GOOD LUCK!!

I think they're all pretty accurate nowadays. I used First Response and got a positive the first time. I was only 2 days late. My sister just recently used it too and she was only 4 days late and got a positive the first time.

They are all pretty accurate. My favorite is EPT. (It's 99.9% correct). Remember though, you can always have a test that says no if you really are, but you will never have a test that says yes if you really aren't.
