Go one tell her how much you love her and am concerned she is feeling down. Have a chat about old times and the things you use to get up to as a child - that will certainly bring a smile to her face. Get out the photograph album - again that will bring back memories.
If time and circumstances treat her to a meal cooked by yourself - if you feel up to it, that would also make her feel good, followi it by watching a funny DVD together.
Tell her he wouldn't want her to miserable whilst he is away and that he would be upset to know that she is.
Go for it - you should know you Mum well and what will cheer her. Wish you all the best and God Bless.

Dang, don't call her a wench. Did he leave her as in divorce or is he on some kind of vacation without her? You should give her some attention, take her out, just get her mind off of your dad being gone. Remind her to hang out with her friends too!!!

Take her for a drive let her choose the music..Take her driving to where she likes to go sight seeing.Take her to lunch and then ask her to do something you use to do with her that she really enjoys... That might help!!! Have her start a project that would surprise your dad when he gets home that would keep her busy... something she enjoys too... well good luck your a wonderful thoughtful son!!!***

It is apparent that your Mother does not have her wits about her, without your Father, how very sad. I suggest you pay for her ticket so that she may go and meet your Father somewhere nice, perhaps the beach in Rotterdam would be a suitable destination. Maybe you could clean the house, while she is away, and have fresh cut flowers about the place for her return...

Give her the car, some money, and let her go shopping. Set up a date for her and one of her friends to go out somewhere to do something so that she can take her mind off the situation. Mainly just do something which will help her take her mind off of everything and just relax.

for gods sakes how long is he gone for? Take her out with your friends........and don't hold anything back, if she gets a bit embarrassed she will laugh, and she will have great stories to tell your father. You could go rent Calendar Girls for her, or invite her friends over....you could play the butler........oh, this would be quite funny.......go dress up as your father....make it obvious you are impersonating him and repeat his usual witty comments, she will laugh, guaranteed.

Poor wench? You have some suppressed negative feelings towards her, and she most likely senses that.
