Sommersby--Richard Gere and Jodie Foster- civil war movie. Is he her husband returned from the war or an imposter

Silent Running--1971-Bruce Dern--sci-fi movie--If you can watch the final shot of the little robot left alone to care for the garden and not bawl your eyes out, you are not human.

On the Beach--Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire (i think)--nuclear war has occurred. The only survivors are those in Australia, but the nuclear fallout is coming. There's nothing to do but wait for the end.

Field of Dreams--I don't get it personally, but I've seen men of solid stone tear up at this one.

West Side Story / Romeo and Juliet--same story, same star crossed lover--pass the kleenex

Sad moments to me: The tragedy and sacrifice of the finale of "The Exorcist" (1973), the futility of "The Sugarland Express", the loss in "Terms Of Endearment", the goofy sad/happiness of the end of "Urban Cowboy",...and c'mon, E.T. hugging Elliott goodbye and actually PURRING at the end of "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial".
It's funny where raw, human moments can be felt in films. Often, movies that are intended to be "weepers",..and are thus manipulative,..aren't.

Brokeback Mountain has a really sad ending; With Heath Ledgers' character vowing to never forget what happened...with tears in his eyes!! I know alot of people don't like this movie; but i love it!! It is an unconventional love story; but the ending really tears me up!!! This movie is about the pain and anguish of unrequited love...it is so sad!!!

Edward Scissorhands: cause they have to live apart to keep him safe.
Ghost: cause he dies.
Boys Don't Cry: cause she dies and it's a true story.
Titanic: cause Jack dies.
Brokedown Palace: cause she takes all the blame and has to stay in that prison for the rest of her life just so her friend can go free.
Brokeback Mountain: cause they could never be together and then he dies.
