How deep in house? Under the slab, copper water pipe can be rolled out and lie right on top of grade.then when filled with sand it will be covered just enough so when the concrete is pored it's not trampled by the concrete guys. So no it doesn't have to be buried. You want to make sure if there is any soldier joints under slab they are silver solidered.

It is according to where you live
In the cold northern states they should be burried 5 ft or better as the ground often becomes frozen 4 ft under. In Alaska probley 7 ft.
Here we need only bury them about 2 ft as we rarely have cold weather or it doesn't last long enough to freeze the pipes.
If you have a house well above the ground you could do better by insulaitng them well enough to protect them. Run them in one trough together the length and build a tray of wood (plywood to protect them and isulate them several times with insulation or foam.
Foam is no good under ground (i don't know of any pipes which you can insluate under ground ) unless you bury them well under the frost line or frozen ground level.

Well, most pipes in your house are run in the attic or walls and aren't buried at all. Generally all you might need under a slab is a foot of coverage to prevent any damage from placing the concrete.

below the frost line. Check with your local building department (planning and zoning) for the requirements in your area. In Colorado, it's 12 inches MINIMUM!

depending on your municipality, it is most likely 18 inches unless it is under a slab of concrete.. if it is under a slab it can be 6 inches..
you should check with a local plumber to make sure, though..
