chack me anyway with my answer 'cause i dont have a pen here and no calculator so i am kinda doin it by heart:

let X squared = X^2 ok ?

(x^2 - x - 22)^(4/3) = 16
3rd-root[(x^2 - x - 22)^4] = 16
3rd-root[(x^2 - x - 22)^4] = 3rd-root(4096)
taking off 3rd root from both sides then
(x^2 - x - 22)^4 = 4096
(x^2 - x - 22)^4 = 8 ^ 4
{for (x^2 - x - 22) >0 we can assume that :}
(x^2 - x - 22) = 8
so...
x1,2 = [1 +/- sqrt(1 - 4*(-22*1))]/2

x1,2 = [1 +/- sqrt(89)]/2

X1 = 5.217
X2 = -4.217

Both making (x^2 - x - 22) right
so our assume was right

and this is the right ansers:
X1 = 5.217
X2 = -4.217
