It is simple, as a case of interpolation, we can take the example of loud speakers we have Bass and twiters . Male voice box differ from female voice box and the same is implied in the frequency generated by the voice boxes. Shorter the box higher the frequency , longer/ bigger the box lower frequency and high in bass.
Hope this anwsers the question.

Men's vocal cords are well rested from waiting to get a word in. Female vocal cords are in use a much higher percentage of time trying to keep the male cords from interrupting. The difference in timber in rested vocal cords is quite noticable and we easily identify gender in this way.

Physiology of vocals chords is on average different between men and women. The chords in men are typically longer than chords in women; so like a longer vibrating string, their voices are typically lower because longer things tend to vibrate at slower (lower) frequencies. There are always exceptions to this rule, which is why I say "on average" or "typically."

Strictly physiological as we develop/grow voice changes due to hormones but it can be controlled or learnt. You can learn to copy any voice/sound just like a Myna.
