Unfortunately, you're being stereotypical. The general classification of a nerd isn't based on what they wear or how they act, it's their interest in learning to their capacity, and constantly learning new things and academically challenging themselves. I'm what you'd probably consider a "nerd" being 15 years old, and would rather study or learn something new than go to a party or the movies with friends.
However, I'm never alone or depressed on Valentine's day.
Many people are nerds without the pocket protector and the glasses and braces.
Stating that, "we all know nerds are always having a hard time in finding a date" is narrow-minded. :)

all i have to say is that there's always someone for everyone. i mean, in highschool the jocks always went out with the popular girls, and the goths with the gothettes and so on and so forth. but what people dont realize is that your so called "nerdy kids" have relationships of their own, and believe it or not but!!! their relationships actually work out because there isnt any friend backstabbing or anything. anyway, what im trying to say is that nerds date just as much as "normal" people. By the way, fastforward 20 years from now....i dont think those nerds will the too depressed, they're the richest people alive!

What makes you think that nerds have a hard time finding dates? Some women prefer nerds! (Well, as long as the guy doesn't wear his Star Trek uniform on the date.)
Did you know that some nerds pretend to be virgins just because it makes women want to sleep with them? Yup. Some women like to think they're first and, face it, how is she going to ever be able to tell whether he's lying or not? If he's bad in bed, she will just think it's because it's his "first" time and if he's good in bed, well, heck, who is going to complain about THAT?
Nerds are not always having a hard time finding a date.

I'm a nerd, and I've had a date every Valentine's Day since I can remember.
Do you think shallow middle-schoolers ask too many idiotic questions on Y!A?
Yes.

I guess not. There must be female nerds that enjoy messing around with male nerds. Being a nerd is not as bad as you might think.

Depression can only come when there is an unrealistic expectation. I am curious of what you define as a nerd.
