Do I have to unplug from Tower? from electricity?
Do I have to Uninstall software before Reinstalling?
Any special instructions for using with XPSP2?
Is there anything I can do, in general, to protect my programs from corruption? (I have no viruses or spyware, I checked the resolution, Video Card, drivers, did system file scan).

It's always recommended if it at all possible, to completely remove software that you are updating or replacing. So yes, uninstall the current installation of the printer software first.

You do not have to un-plug the printer from the tower. If you're referring to the drivers as "printer software" you should be able to just use the update driver function from your hardware section in the system control panel.

1) Unplug the printer from the tower
2) Use Add/Remove programs (Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs) to uninstall your printer software
3) Try to find an updated version of the software off of the manufacturer's website, otherwise just use your original CD to reinstall.

add and remove prog. then unisntall the printer software, then put the CD that the printer came with again. Then follow the steps on the CD. And your done!

yes u start by uninstall from add remove programs in the control pannel and folow what it says, this will guide u, and then start the reinstall either from download, or cd.

Go to Start, Control panel, printers and remove your printer. Restart your computer and the printer should be added back.

If it is there in your hard disk.
It must have gone to trash bin.
Go to trash bin you will find it.
Then retrive it from there.
