I think so. I think it has to do with the survival aspect of humor. Humor is a pressure-release, and where is there intense pressure if not in the realm of Judgement Upon a Lifestyle? Also, I think gays are more at ease with sexual topics (ya' think?), and there, too, humor resides. What's your impression?

What an absurd question.

While I agree about what humor means in response to survival, I totally disagree with the notion of one group having a greater sense of humor than another.

We spend so much energy on pointing out the differences between people instead of celebrating the similarities that bind us.

From all that I have seen in life, the answer is YES, we do have a far better sense of humor....but straights can be pretty sharp also, and appreciate wit in any form, assuming they are not just stupid. (And, in my life, I have met two stupid gays, but I have met one heck of a lot of Gays).
I am not sure about the survival aspect, as I have never felt threatened....but I have been around a lot of men who are sharp as a tack, fantastic on the fly with barbs and wit. Come to think of it, they have all been gay. Hmmmm. And yes, Gays seem to be much more at ease in their skins than many straight men..but you have to feel for the straigth guy..he is cast into a tiny little box of behavior by all around him, and that has to get old. He cannot express himself for fear of being labeled "Gay." sad but true.

We have to have a good sense of humor to deal with these fools that come in here and bash gays over the internet because they are too cowardly to say it to our faces

Better sense of humor. "really know how to throw a party".
Y'know what? Fairly often true. And it is because we NEED to, with all the crap thrown at us on a daily basis.

It appears to you that way because most openly gay people are secure with who they are.
If you look deeper you will find that people with no sense of humor are very insecure people.
Has nothing to do with sexual orientation.

On average, yes they do.

Way more freedom to be open about sex, and way more need to laugh about how tragic the human condition is.

I have had many gay friends, have been probablt the only straight man in a gay bar, been to gay parties, etc. So I know

what ever is asserted approximately his humorousness, i'm somewhat particular its not a similar, as what you detect in a nighttime club. i generally dont snicker at those varieties of jokes myself. in spite of the undeniable fact that, married with infants remains humorous for the time of a few episodes. to me. IMO it quite is written in lots of places that God does snicker on the depraved. the main major one, is stumbled on whilst He casts each and every of the depraved into outer darkness or into Hell. some thing like that, i'd desire to in no way locate it lower back. the funniest comedian i ever knew, finished earlier an LDS youthful person amassing, in Portland Or. someplace in the 1980's . because of the fact i had found out that the Lds doctrine says to not trifle with the failings of God i went purposely to stand nonetheless and not snicker. He became not rude, yet sarcastic, he became not filthy in language yet used Irony, I easily have in no way laughed so confusing, regardless of george carlin, or cheech and chong or invoice cosby. it became reported, that Jesus became a musician. and it would desire to be reported that for the time of a few places, in the bible Jesus is employing humor in spite of the undeniable fact that it quite is lost in translation. i think of all all-powerful beings would desire to understand all issues that are finite. i'm going to wager he as quickly as took a type on Humor and Comedy as much as we take English instructions on writting and publishing a e book. in spite of the undeniable fact that, might he easily be everyday as a well-liked contemporary comedian. he might would desire to be some thing like the comedian i went to be certain. and would desire to not make any income any respect in the nightclubs. in spite of the undeniable fact that, jerry seinfel became very nicely-known, and his comedy became generally dry, and lots of the time the objective audience didnt connect. i dont think of Jesus might go the line to humor the depraved. with the objective to the depraved he would not be a ultimate corporation.

ermm, well i am tempted to agree with you but i just cant. every group of people have their own style of humour: british- dry wit(sarcasm), the french have a bizzarre sense of humour- its sort of, well different. black culture- taking the piss out of an individual, enough to probably make them cry. enought alking, i agree with you. say 75%
