Ipod was goofy, and didnt charge properly when I first got it outta the box. Will that make the battery not work properly or if I recharge it will I get the full 14-15 hour battery life?

Fully charging a battery was only ever an issue with the old school NMH bat tries. Lithium Ion batteries are totally different. You never need to fully charge. It's something stores tell you for no apparent reason. Your battery will eventually die in 18-32 months and will wear over time. Get Best Buy's service plan so you don't have to drop 100 dollars for a new batt. through Apple.

the battery life will short up a bit.
