Who find it very difficult? I make less than $30,000.00 a year and it's almost impossible. I work all of the time and I get no help from my kid's dad and I have to pay the same fees for riding the bus, etc. as the double-income families who live in mansions.
But, then there are people who don't work and get everything for free. It just doesn't seem right. does anyone else struggle with this?

Yes I have a college degree, and whoever mentioned food stamps, that's great, but I am WAY above the standard for low-income assistance.

While I know it doesn't help there isn't a stadium inn this country that could hols all the single Mothers in the same position as you.
Sadly it is caused by men that will not accept the responsibility of fathering children.
I wish I could offer some form of help that would enable you to get through these problems that you face but I know that I can't.
Suffice It to say God Bless you and the thousands of other Mothers that are struggling to raise their children.

There are millions unfortunately, and they don't have health insurance either. The best thing is to claim your rights and get support from your kids' dad. Paying child support will help him become a better citizen and person. It will teach him responsibility. Many woman don't do this for pride, but it's a huge mistake to their children, the ex, and themselves. Get out of that cycle and go file your papers.

I WAS in your position, but I went back and got my degree. Just don't take the time to sit and have a pity party. Go out and make something for yourself and for your children. Good luck, sister!

As a single parent who maid only $20,000/year AND went to college, it is tough.

I had to stop comparing myself. All that mattered was my survival and my kid's survival. I didn't assume that I would be getting any help. I don't let myself envy those who have money or are able to stay at home.

You just have to stop comparing yourself. If you don't, you're just going to become more and more bitter.

File for help. Like section 8 housing, food stamps and more. You deserve it. Talk to other people about other programs you may be intitled to.
