One of the answers was close but not quite. Right at the beginning of Windows XP setup a message is displayed across the bottom of the screen saying Press F6 to install third party drivers, you MUST press F6 at this point and you will be prompted to insert a floppy disk with the driver on. The disk came with the motherboard, it's the driver for the SATA controller on the board that you need.

It's quite likely that you only got a CD with the board but there will be a utility on it to create the floppy. Just use another machine to create it.

If it is SATA HDD before start installing XP u want to Install the SATA Drivers.
It is shown down for pressing i think it is F8 for RAID during Windows XP installation.
At that time u are required to put the respective floppy disk containing SATA drivers.
If it is not with u download from ur manufactures website.

That means windows cannot detect either your drive or your drive controller. Your motherboard may have come with a floppy disk that contains its IDE/SATA/ICH Raid drivers. When windows prompts your for 3rd party raid controller drivers, hit the key it says on the screen, and insert that floppy.
