YES! Each ovary under optimum conditions take turns giving you your cycle, an egg releases from the left in September, for example, from the right in October. If you only have one left, it will still function, although your cycles may be a bit altered. If you are TRYING to get pregnant, do it the way the women of the 1930's and 40's did; get a thermometer and put it beside your bed. Each morning as you awake, take your temperature and chart it. This is before you so much as put a toe on the floor. As the month progresses, you will see a slight elevation during your ovulation time when you are most fertile, and then it will drop slightly to "normal" the rest of the month. Chart those peaks for 3 cycles to get a good feel for it, and you will know when your body is most receptive.

Of course u can. A woman can ovulate from either her right or left ovary or sometimes from both at the same time. It might be a little more difficult for you if u usually ovulate from the side that ur ovary is missing. Just make sure u chart your most fertile days with your cervical mucous and your basal body temp. Good Luck!

My friend had her ovary removed and was told by her doctor that the other ovary will learn that it is the only one producing eggs and will start to release one every month.

There's really no need for me to answer as you will have gathered that it's perfectly do-able! I just wanted to add that I have a friend who has just had a baby girl after having an ovary removed some years ago due to what they call a chocolate cyst (full of old blood - yuck). Her other overy wasn't perfect either so it really can be done!

No. Girls are born with two; boys have none.

Kidding! I had an ovary removed along with an ovarian tumor. Later I had 4 kids from the remaining overy. No problemo! Luckily, in many respects our body parts are redundant.

Many women have conceived with one ovary provided that it produces viable eggs and the rest of your baby-making machine is functioning properly.

Yes, but you may find it more difficult. as you only have one ovary you will probably only ovulate once in every 2 months!

Good Luck XxX
