I have a Black 2002 Mercedez Benz C230 Kompressor and i want to polish it. However, i need a good long lasting waxing brand for a black car, anyone have any idea on what waxes & polishes i should get?

I see lots of people using Turtle wax...should i get that?

I am very familiar with professional detailing so here you go:
Owning a black vehicle I would first be concerned with swirls showing up in the finish

Preventing swirls starts with washing.

1. Wash your vehicle using 2 Sheepskin washmitts and 2 buckets, 1 with clean water, and 1 with soapy water. Use the clean bucket to rinse the washmitt after every panel. Also, dedicate 1 washmitt for wheels and wheelwells. If you drop the washmitt on the ground, throw it away, it will pick up dirt particles that may not possibly get out and scratch your paint. Also, while washing, pay attention to removing bugs and tar with a good removal chemical.

2. After washing, use detailing clay and clay lubricant or soapy water on paint (but not too coarse of a compound), this will remove the contaminants from the paint and create a smooth finish to work with.

3. Dry the car with a quality Waffle Weave Microfiber towel, try not to use a chamois as they are very tightly woven and if they pick up dirt they will scratch the paint.

4. To prep the paint to be waxed, wipe the vehicle down quickly with a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water.

5. Now to wax! use quality foam applicator pads, good quality microfiber towels (cobra, vroom, pashak-good microfiber towels will run anywhere from 2 dollars on up apiece, these will not scratch your paint like terry cloths), Also select a good quality wax: i.e. P21S, Poorboys Natty's Wax, Pinnacle Souveran Wax, Meguiars NXT is decent.
-- The difference between these waxes and over the counter cleaner waxes are that OTC waxes contain abrasives that over time will mar your paint!!--

6. apply the wax with the pad in back and forth motions, not circular, and follow the directions on the bottle. Remove the wax with the microfiber towel.

Now if your paint already has swirls, these are easiest to remove with a Porter Cable 7424 polisher or similar. You will need to select the proper pad, compounds or swirl removers, and work it in until the polish breaks down.

Here is a list of what you should start with:
-2 Sheepskin washmitts
-2 5 gallon buckets
-quality carwash, ie meguiars gold class, etc
-2 waffle weave drying towels
-rubbing alchol
-4 or 5 foam applicator pads
- Microfiber towels(quantity depends on size of vehicle)
-Wax. Choose a good one!

This is just a dent, any more info you need check on autopia.org , also I buy most of my detailing products through pakshak.com, www.premiumautocare.com, autogeek.net and www.autopia-carcare.com.

I own a black 69 Corvette and I always use a product called "Liquid Glass" when I go to rallys. It's expensive ($20 a can) but it's worth every penny. It has no abrasive and this is VERY IMPORTANT with a black car. this stuff shines like nothing else and puts a great coat of protection on the paint.

Remember do NOT use anything with any kind of abrasive.

The best wax is turtle wax cause it's made from those endangered ridley turtles' shells and you know, up until the time they were ground up for the car wax, those shells were great protection.

i really like TR-3 resin glaze. I've tried quite a few others, from cheap to expensive and i prefer the TR-3 over all of the others
