...and also how when people are in love they get married and once they get married they are 'affectionate' with each other. Needless to say, the kid was grossed out and replyed...."You mean that's what you all are doing when I'm in my room playing with my Legos???" Do you think this lesbian love is a bit much to totally expose to a young child?

Rosie's response was entirely appropriate for a child his age.

Best Wishes!

I agree she might of approached it wrong. But the child should know why mommy is with another woman. I am bi and have children. They all know I'm bi. They all know what this means. They are raised with an open mind. But when it comes to sex, I've learned to answer questions as they ask and on what level I believe they are ready. A three year old doesn't need details and usually doesn't want them. It will only frighten most 3 year olds and maybe even confuse them.

Your question is rather hypocritical.
It is not about lesbian, gay, macho or straight love, is more about the kids approaching the 'subject' for the 1st time. Up to her to lead her life and family. Who are we to judge her? Everyone has different way/style in dealing with the kids. Why cant she expose the reality in her family by being true?

Haha - What was your reaction the first time you realized that your parents had sex?

To answer your question, no. It fits right in there with the birds and the bees. Much better to discuss sex when the question comes up than leave a kid ignorant and seeking answers on the street (am talking straight as well as gay facts of life).

Personally I don't care what they do when they are together and I don't think anyone should not even adults should discuss this personal subject that's between you and your partner. Some people are against Gays and Lesbians, they are afraid that just like you said she told her kids, that the kids are being brought up to be Gay and Lesbian..

Well if a woman gets with another woman and she has kids-well are you supposed to surpress your feelings? I am going through an issue like this myself! Kids can be cruel, and say hateful things. They tend to forget who is the parent. I give in to alot-but my feelings don't matter!

No, not really.
I think exposing young children to things like domestic violence, drug use, etc, is a lot worse.
I was grossed out by all displays of adult affection when I was a kid and it STILL grosses me out when I catch my parents smooching.

The Bible clearly says, LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Now what's wrong with that?
