But it is torture if this person is infatuated with you and can look but not touch. Might be better if you two see less of each other.
You don't get to choose who you fall in love with. And it isn't a kindness to indulge a one sided love.

Tricky one. Sometimes it is easier not to be friends at all after one person displays feelings that are not felt by the other. I'm guessing you're two girls, but you should look at it as if one was male and one female. No one would expect a friendship (in the true sense) to continue when a woman had told a man how she felt and he rejected her advances. It a situation like that, it would be better to spend some time apart so that both can get their thoughts together before trying to pick up the friendship again.
If you are always going to feel like your friend is making advances to you, then you are going to feel funny about the friendship after a while. Better to have some time where you don't see each other so she can 'get over' you, then hopefully you can be best friends again.

Tell your best friend that you don't look at them that way y'all are cool love them like a brother or sister. Best friends trying to be lovers will mess up the friendship. Ya ll know to much personal things about each other. Let them know how you really feel.

well most best friend relationships with guy and girl end up to be like this, one person liking the other and the emotion being neglected. If she is your best friend you need to tell her that you can only be friends and only see it as that nothing else.

Your best friend is looking for more then just friendship,know what your lucky to have a friend who is wanting move into your life the right way.But if you have someone else in your life please tell him/her about it and don't have them hanging in the dark.
I wish for you all the happyness.you sound like a real nice person and your friend has seen the best in you.just be honest about your feeling.

I'm in the same situation but the oppisite side of things. This probably won't help you much but this person feels the way they feel and theres not much you can do about it. Maybe try finding someone to set this person up with. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

the best thing to do for your friend is be honest tell your friend you do not want to go there but you cant loose the friendship friends are few and far between
