When we marry , all take vows in these VOWS it says "TILL DEATH DO WE PART, when you go before a court you are asked to raise your right hand & swear to tell the truth, you can be jailed for lieing , but then after taking vows ,which is to swear to God, a judge will grant divorce & this after knowing the facts that , this couple has given their vows to God that they would stay together TILL DEATH.How can a court grant a divorce & it be legal ,IT GOES AGAINST THE VOWS THAT WERE MADE TO GOD.So are you saying marriage shouldn't be taken serious ?Nor should OUR VOWS to God ?Nor our promise to our spouses ?So if our spouse &God can not trust us to keep our promises,HOW CAN OUR CHILDREN EXPERT ANYTHING TRUTHFUL FROM US ?To rainbow,I know some may think it means the death of the love in the marriage BUT THE BIBLE TEACHES AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A SPOUSE THAT LIVES YOU ARE BOUND TO THAT SPOUSE ,BUT & IF THEY DIE,YOU ARE FREE TO MARRY. Remarriage after divorce is living in adultery. It's a hard fact

You are so right, finally someone speaks the truth. I'm not sure why people could care less about their vows to their spouse. They probably didn't truly love the person in the first place. Something happened along the way & they gave up. Believe me, the ones that sticks it out, it's not because they don't want to give up, it's just that they go back to how they felt when they were dating or the first time the person smiled at them. People need to just go back to the first kiss, the first eye contact, the first butterfly in the stomach 'cause you're going to see him. People just need to go back.

There is nothing legal about God. The vows you took were spiritual promises to God and each other 'till death do we part. Man made it 'legal' by putting it in writing.
The courts can grant a divorce due to man-made laws. God's laws are the 10 commandants.
I believe, first, we need to decide if we live by God's instructions, or are we going to allow man's law to influence us. I understand our license has to be filed in a court office, all due to legal rights, etc..., however I believe this is for the benefit of the children.
This is a very hard situation to understand. Marriage is held up as
being HOLY. This is why the license has 'Holy Matrimony" at the top. Marriage is the most holiest of communions to God.
This is a personal decision. If our spouses were not truthful when stating their vows, then this marriage might seem one-sided. There is a happy medium between God and our laws. Please pray about this. It is to important not to.

The most powerful tool we have is prayer.

God bless you!

Well the Bible says if you are a believer and your spouse is and unbeliever and decides to leave, then you are to let him/her go and there is no bond, you are free to marry.

Also, adultery is grounds for divorce in the Bible.

The Bible also teaches that we can be forgiven of sin. That is ALL sin. So I don't think being divorced is going to be any larger sin than another. The key is to repent of all sin.

So lets go to the extreme. If your husband starts to beat you and your children, you think God wants you to stay there and let you child suffer? Or do you think God expects you to take care of yourself and your child (since you picked your spouse, God did not)? Or do you think God wants to be blamed because you chose not to remove your child from a dangerous environment? Maybe in this case you should leave your husband, never actually file for a divorce and live the rest of your life alone.

Trust me, there are many of us remaining married just because we vowed until death do us part. We just say we never thought it would get this bad. However, a vow is a vow. Yet, I understand the other side. How much misery are you able to take?

it is not easy to sustain a relatoinship nowadays...

Like my mum said "do not marry unless u think u want to have children"..

everything is under stress nowadays, even relationship... not that it is not important, but sometimes, u think back, is it worth being married... what does it lead u to? Getting a house together? Or what???

I have a fren, husband has an affair, even before they were married... he was extremely nice and sweet to her througout courtship... the affair was found out a few months into the marriage.. he lied to both parties...

They filed for divorce... she was entitled to nothing.. she felt like a ball being kicked aside just like this...

So?? this world is in a mess...

If your spouse commits adultery, too bad--you can't break your vows.

If your spouse physically or emotionally abuses you, too bad--you can't break your vows.

If you spouse sexually assaults your children, too bad--you can't break your vows.

People change, and life is short. If your spouse becomes a jerk, then I say divorce their ***.

This doesn't mean I am not going to stop finding love.

We are not living in the medieval Europe under Catholic edicts.

Yah, I have been with the same guy for 10 years and we are not married. It is a nice feeling to not need a piece of paper or a prayer to confirm your love and commitment.

Long comment, but the gist of it is that we live in a "throw away" society. If XYZ no longer works, that's that and we go on to something else.
