What's different about the magnetic poles of common refrigerator magnets compared with those of common bar magnets?

Bars have a pole or opposing force on each end and fridge magnets have only one.

Bar magnets have one pole at each end. Refrigerator magnets also have 2 poles, the direction is just not easily identified.

Hi. If you have two of them, try sticking one to the other. You'll find that they will only attract each other in certain positions and will repel in others. They are parallel magnets.
