A relative has ongoing periods (not spotting) and is very tired all the time. I assume it's due to blood loss. Any idea as to the cause or cure for this?

Fibroid tumors are probably the most common cause. Millions of women have the tumors in their ueterus and don't even know it. My wife would have a period for almost 2 weeks, then sometimes 2 weeks later she'd start her period again. Sometimes she'd go 6 or 7 weeks between periods. Even though everyone says birth control regulates the period, it did nothing to help her. After she finally went to an OB/GYN she had to have a hysterectomy to remove the tumors and the intense pain she was in.

She is now healthy, loving life, and had no hormonal changes from the surgery.

find out before you have a enlarged uterus like me and need an operation to remove the fibroid tumor and you don't want to become low in iron okay.

I had this problem and it was because I was having thyroid problems (hypothyroid). Once I was on meds and saw my gyn so that other things could be done I was back to my normal cycle. Along with thyroid meds I was given a low dose birth control pill.

They might not be taking it as consistently as necessary or prescribed. Try to take it around the same time of day every time you take it. Otherwise, they might need a higher or lower estrogen level birth control pill. They should consult their gyno about this issue.
