sit her down with a pen and paper and get her to write down how she thinks she will survive,,all of it from eating to buying tampons,,every bit of every day will be different,it will all cost and she will more or less be without anyone who cares.

Sounds like she needs counseling for depression. You might want to drop some hints to a teacher so she can get the help she needs.

if her parents arent that bad maybe you should tell them. my friend used to talk about running away she called me and said she was running away and i thought she was joking, she wasnt. I immediatly called her parents maybe you shouldnt wait for that or encourage her to go to some counseling

Just sit back and let her realize her mistakes. She is probably just whinnying about nothing she will soon realize she doesn't have it as bad as she thinks she does.

let her run to you and when her parents find out where she is and comes for her then let her and her parents talk alone

when you even doubt she is serious be a good friend and tell her parents.
