You can call your bank to see if there were any deposits recently made or you can wait til you receive a check stub telling you the amount that was deposited. Sometimes it takes a couple weeks for pay checks and other checks to switch from paper to direct deposit. You just have to be patient and keep an eye on it. If it doesn't take into effect within a proper time period (proper time period would probably entail within about 16 days), you'd probably want to go talk to someone in your bank about it. It's always best to be safe than sorry when it comes to money.

Also, you will probably get a notice of deposit from your employer. It's like a paycheck stub without the paycheck.

My bank has a place on the webpage where you can set up alerts for your account. You can set it up for a variety of options, including to get an email when a direct deposit is received.

as long as you have the right routing and account number there shouldn't be any problems. go check your balance either by phone or online.
