You may need more potassium. Talk to your dr. about it. It may be that your prenatal viatmins do carry enough potassium. I just went through this myself and had to change my prenatal viatmins.

Tylenol is a wonderful drug, but may not be helpful for the type of pain you are experiencing. Ask your doctor about the possibility of an anti-inflammatory instead. Also, be sure to get plenty of potassium, found in vitamin rich foods such as bananas. Potassium helps with cramps, especially in the legs, during pregnancy.

At work, try not to stand for more than 2-3 hours at a time, then take a break and put your feet up. If you cannot place your feet on a chair, sit on the floor, so that they are level with your bottom. Also, if a place is available, lying on your left side for a period of 5-10 minutes may also help.

If it is not possible for you to take a break every 2-3 hours, or sit down during your work, try bringing a small stool to work with you. Stand with one foot on the stool, switching sides every 45 minutes-1hour, or whenever is comfortable for you.

Sorry for your discomfort and good luck!

Drink adequate water, take prenatal vitamins and eat a balanced diet. She can also do stretches. Believe it or not back stretches relieve pain in the legs. Im 23 weeks and work at a place where I do not have the chance to sit often, in a 6 or 8 hour shift and my legs hurt really bad if i do not exercise before i go to work. I would really recommend trying a stretching and strengthening routine... You can try babyfit.com

Sounds like you may have sciatica, which is why you get the shooting pains - they usually start up near your hip or in your buttock and shoot down your leg. Best advice is to drink lots of water, and make sure you keep your legs elevated whenever you sit down. Put something under your feet that's big enough so the back of your knees don't touch the chair you're sitting on.

You can take paracetamol as well, so maybe try that for the pain.

That is normal in a pregnancy. The best thing to do, is make sure to take a small break every hour to circulate the blood in your legs. Sitting or standing for long periods of time causes them to hurt. Also, cut back on your sodium intake. I got very swollen with my 2nd child and would make sure to rest AFTER for for about 1-2 hours a day on my side. Resting on your side is the best for the baby as well.

drink lots of water the leg pains are mucles spassims which are really comman during pregnancy usually caused by not enough water and possible either iron or calcium definicancies, so take iron and calcium vitiams or the pregnancy vitiams are good. and to help with the leg swelling don't wear heels, don't be standing for more than 45mins with out sitting down, at the end of the day rest ur feet slightly higher than ur head laying down when i was pregnant i put a a couple of pillow on the arm of the couch.

take your prenatal vitamins, drink loads of water.....make sure you are wearing the right kind of shoes...no high heels or flip flops..tenny shoes usually do the trick to relieving leg pain....dont drug up on tylenol all the time lol...cuz then your body gets immune to it..(tylenol stinks lol....I have always used advil but now im Stuck with tylenol ;) ) umm...eat your fruit and veggies and if that still isnt working call your doc and ask him or her if it maybe has to do with a vitamin your lacking....I was having some similar problems and it was cuz I needed more calcium. Good luck honey.

Does the pain increase when you flex your foot up? or Is there an area on your leg that is red and hot? If so you might have a blood clot. To diagnose that you need and ultrasound of the blood vessels in your legs. The test is painless.

If it is not that then you might just need to stay off your feet so much.

if your on your legs that amount of time then your legs are bound to hurt as there is more blood pumping around your body i realize you have to work but resting is SO important can you not get any help from social like maternity grant and work have to give you maternity pay.if you have a good husband i suggest you get him to do everything for you when you get in and give your legs a good massage otherwise paracetamol is the only safe pain killer you can take and rest on your breaks at work

I'm not sure that this will help but I'm 33 weeks pregnant and when I get leg cramps and pain in my legs I use a heating pad and lay my legs on it. I hope this helps.
