(330/100) x 140 = y gms
3.3 x 140 = y gms
462 = y gms
or

330 x (140/100) = y gms
330 x 1.4 = y gms
462 = y gms

Increase = 462 - 330 = 132gms

100% = 330g
140% = (330/100)x140 = 462g

The question should be "What is the new amount of 330g when increased by 40%?".
