I have a sentra 94, after a car wash (don't know if washing it has anything to do with the problem), I could start my car and put it back to the garage. Then it died. I tried starting it again. The 2nd time lasted about 5 seconds. I tried again, the 3rd time lasted 2seconds.
And now, it doesnt even start, jut cranking when I turn my key.
I tried jump starting it, but doesnt work.
I tried give it a gas, the car runs or sounds like runing when I am gassing, but as soon as I stop gassing the car dies again.
What is the problem?
Serious Help!
Thanks.

P.S. Is it illegal to push your car around in IL (to the AUTOSHOP) on the street? (Local streets)

My battery is new (less than half year), alternator is a year old. I checked the belts on the alternator and the engine, and they are all moving.
I will check for water and wetness.

I tried opening the distributor cap and check for wetness. It's dry.
could it be the fuel pressure regulator? The one that supplies fuel to the engine ?

It does sound like water got into one of the sensor harnesses. Try putting a hair dryer under the hood and drying every thing out. Might take some time.

. Have a friend that has a clue to check and see if you have spark ,and fuel. If it has no spark check your fuses. Look in the fuse, relay center under your hood. Find the relay that says fuel pump,or FIP. Swap it with another relay that has nothing to do with the car running"Like you AC relay and see if the car starts.
If that doesn't work take a can of PBlaster." It's a lubricant that you can get at any auto parts store."
Take off your distributor cap And thoroughly spray the inside of the cap and the rotor. It acts like a moisture displacer. Install the cap and try to start your car. Even if the distributor looks dry it can still have moisture in it.
Try that and see what happens

Try checking the terminals or the wires from the battery to the starter.
