depends what food your talking about. Most chemical compounds found in foods are placed in groups such as carbohydrates (carbon hydrogen and oxygen) etc. Other chemicals for example preservatives and flavourings are more complicated and include esters and acids. You would b best to check each one individually.

fats, proteins, carbs...........vitamins, then on the molecular level, amino acids......deeper are codons which make up the structure...example any food that hasnpt been preserved, any legum is a good one.
