Even with birth control, there's still a chance that it can fail, just like other means of contraceptives. It'll greatly reduce the risk but it's not 100% and yeah time is needed for it to be fully efficent, just wait, it won't kill ya will it?

If shes taken a month break then she should have started her pill on the first day of her period. that way she would have been covered. However women are most furtile between days 14 - 21 of their cycle so chances are she should be fine - best to go to the doctor and get the morning after pill just incase. And next time use a condom - pregnancy isnt the only thing unprotected sex can give you.

It depends. If this is the first month you started the pack you should use back protection the first month they say. I've worked in pharmacy 19 y ears and was always told this even by my obgyn. If it was not your first time using this birth control pill then the progesterone and estrogen are in your system. So it all depends on if it was your first time using this birth control or not.
Hope this helps.

Nope. You must be on the pill for at least 7 days before and it is best if you are on it for a month before.

You need to be on the pill for one whole cycle before you are safe & don't need a back up method.
