Their is a limit to every god damn thing. It's just another way people can control us. Now they're doing it on the Internet, too?

Because it keeps people from replying with asinine remarks and making nuisances of themselves for sole purpose of getting a couple of points; this is not a race nor is it a competition. The idea was to get people to communicate and share their thoughts, hopefully to bring about better understanding among those that use this service. That's one reason.
The other reason is that it is THEIR site and THEY have the right to impose rules and regulations, and you have the right to visit other sites if you don't agree with THEIR rules on THEIR site.
When or if you ever start your won site, YOU can establish the rules and regulations that you think are not "stupid." Doesn't that sound fair? This also applies to "Jason."

Its because your level 1. Your limit goes up as you get higher level. This is supposed to be your reward for getting a higher level I think.
I believe the logic is, if you just play for points and don't try to get best answers it will take you a loooong time to level up if they put a limit on your # of answers according to level. They are trying to promote good answers.

the limit is there so new users familarized themselves with the site and to stop trolls from abusing the site. it wont take you long to move up the levels where you can ask and answer unlimited questions.
