it mainly a safety concern. there is a company that has produced a safe storage tank that can safely disperse the hydrogen if the tank is ruptured. Problem is the process is still expensive.

nothing, they can be purchased today. Most fuel cells are in use for things like remote radio transmitters. Usually fueled by propane or other hydrocarbon gas instead of hydrogen.

however they are not used in a production automobile because the price is too high, and because hydrogen is difficult to store.

new manufacturing processes may bring this cost down.

The best answer for 99% of automobiles would be a simple battery/electric. The EV-1 had a range of 150 miles, far more than the daily needs of most people.

google "Tesla electric car" to see an example of what can be done.

GM has a progression gas cellular motor vehicle they have geared up, it expenses over $a million,000,000. are you able to have adequate funds that? Me neither! There are different technologies that are lots extra value-effective that would shrink the quantity of gasoline a motor vehicle makes use of. Hybrids have been around some years and are gaining in recognition. If purely a million/2 of the autos on the line have been hybrids, this might a great deal shrink the call for for oil in the U. S. and might decrease oil expenditures lots. Hydrogen gas cellular autos would become economically achievable in 15 or 2 an prolonged time, yet real now they are not sensible in any respect.

But actually, I think that higher powers (oil companies) don't want any alternative energies for vehicles to apperar for now.
